Accord operates the whenweact.com website. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this policy.
Information We Collect
When you use Accord, we collect the following information:
- Email address — required when you commit to an accord or create one. Used to send confirmation emails, threshold notifications, and reaffirmation reminders.
- Name — optional. If provided, may be displayed publicly in the commitments feed (only if you opt in).
- Payment information — if an accord includes a financial deposit, payment details are processed by Stripe. Accord never stores raw card numbers.
- Usage data — standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. Used for security and debugging only.
How We Use Your Information
- To send email verification links and threshold activation notifications
- To send reaffirmation check-in emails if you subscribed to them at commitment time
- To display your name in public commitment feeds (only if you explicitly opted in)
- To process and manage financial deposits via Stripe
- To provide dashboard access to accord creators
- To improve and maintain the service
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your email for marketing without your explicit consent.
Data Retention
Commitment records are retained for the lifetime of an accord plus 12 months after expiration. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us.
Dashboard session cookies expire after 7 days. Magic link tokens expire after 24 hours.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Stripe — payment processing (accords with deposits only)
- Netlify — hosting and edge functions
Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
Cookies
Accord uses a single httpOnly session cookie (accord_session) for dashboard authentication. This cookie contains a random session ID only — no personal data.
We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of reaffirmation emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in those emails
- Request that your name be made anonymous in commitment feeds
